About the Role:
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dedicated and enthusiastic Cover Supervisor to join a well-regarded school located in Wakefield. This full-time, long-term position is available immediately. As a Cover Supervisor, you will be responsible for managing classrooms in the absence of the regular teacher, ensuring students remain on task and engaged with their work. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is considering a career in teaching or is passionate about education. You will be provided with pre-prepared lesson plans, and your primary focus will be on maintaining a positive and productive learning environment, managing behaviour, and supporting students.

Requirements
- Experience working with young people, ideally within a school or educational setting.
- A passion for education and a desire to help students succeed.
- Eligibility to work in the UK.
- Enhanced Child DBS on the updated service (Willingness to apply for one)
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong classroom management and behaviour management abilities.
- Resilience and adaptability to handle unexpected situations.
- A positive and enthusiastic attitude.
- The ability to build rapport with both students and staff.
- Organisational skills to manage various tasks simultaneously.
- Supervise student learning by ensuring they are focused on the pre-set work.
- Manage classroom behaviour effectively to maintain a positive and safe learning environment.
- Respond to student questions and provide assistance with the assigned tasks.
- Maintain accurate records of student attendance and behaviour.
- Liaise with teaching staff to provide feedback on student progress and any issues that arose.
- Ensure the safety and well-being of all students in your care.
- Support the school's policies and procedures, including those for safeguarding.
- Create a positive rapport with students, building a relationship of respect.
- Promote a culture of learning and encourage students to be independent learners.
- Report any incidents or concerns to the appropriate staff member in a timely manner.
