PAY: From C3 £23,606 FTE to E6 £31,094 FTE, depending on experience (Actual salary £20,192 to £26,597)

Job Purpose
To work with Christ’s College SENDCo to provide dedicated support for students with Special Educational Needs (SEND), acting as a key point of contact for students, families, and staff.
The SEND Keyworker ensures that students’ individual needs are met through tailored interventions, consistent monitoring, and collaborative planning, helping them to thrive academically, socially, and
emotionally. A SEND Keyworker is vital in helping every student make progress and reach their full potential.
Areas of responsibility
STUDENT SUPPORT:
Act as a named keyworker for a caseload of students with an EHCP, advocating, monitoring and reviewing students’ progress against their targets.
Build positive relationships with students to support their engagement, independence and well-being.
Deliver targeted interventions and support strategies based on individual needs, both in and outside the classroom through groups and 1:1.
Promote inclusion and a positive learning environment for students with diverse needs.
To help students with arrangements for homework and other independent tasks.
Set high expectations which inspire, motivate and challenge students.
Encourage, raise self- esteem and promote confidence within the students with whom they work;
To provide practical guidance and support to students in and out of lessons, so that they can access the curriculum, facilitating independent learning and make good academic progress.
COMMUNICATION AND LIASION:
Maintain regular contact with parents/carers to share progress and concerns.
Liaise with external agencies (e.g., educational psychologists, STIPS, therapists) as needed.
Work closely with the SENCO, teaching staff, and pastoral team to ensure joined-up support for students and inclusive classroom practices.
ADMINISTRATION:
Contribute to the development and review of EHCPs and support plans.
Maintain accurate records of interventions, progress, and meetings.
Monitor attendance, behaviour, and academic progress of key students.
To support the collection and return of students’ mobile phones at the start and end of the school day.
To attend all relevant staff meetings and line management meetings when timetable and work hours allow.
ADVOCACY AND INCLUSION:
Advocate for students’ needs within the school community.
Support students in transitions (e.g., between key stages or post-16 pathways).
Promote inclusive practices and contribute to staff training and awareness.
To accompany students with disabilities on College trips, both day and residential, as required;
To support students in all aspects of internal and public examinations and to act as readers, scribes or invigilator for exams when required.
