Summary
SEN Apprentice Teaching AssistantMonday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday 8.40am - 15.30pm, Tuesday 8.40am - 16.20pmWe are looking for passionate and enthusiastic individuals who want to kick start their careers in education. At Kingsweston School we currently have an exciting opportunity for a dedicated practitioner to join the team as an Apprentice Teaching Assistant, supporting teaching staff with responsibility for the development and educational provision of learners.
Job overview
You will be working towards a Level 3 qualification as a Special Needs Teaching Assistant, building the knowledge, skills, and experience needed to support pupils with special educational needs. We offer full support in partnership with The City of Bristol College, giving you the opportunity to gain valuable experience working alongside our fantastic students and staff. This programme is designed to set you up for a successful future in schools.
Your responsibilities
Support the development of individual learning plans alongside the teacher
Assist in supervising students alongside the teaching and support staff
Attend to students’ daily needs and provide care in and out of the classroom
Deliver specific medical care following appropriate training
Lead activities, monitor progress and behaviour, and provide guidance
Participate in outdoor activities and trips, ensuring a safe environment
