Job Opportunity: Special Needs Teaching Assistants - Bury
Are you passionate about supporting children with complex needs? A mainstream school in Bury is seeking dedicated and compassionate Special Needs Teaching Assistants to join their team across a range of flexible roles.
Location: Bury
Working Hours: 08:30am - 15:30pm
Start Date: ASAP
Contract Types Available:
- Ad-Hoc (flexible daily cover)
- Short-Term
- Long-Term
About the Role:
You will be supporting pupils with a variety of complex needs, including autism, physical disabilities, and severe learning difficulties. Working closely with teachers and therapists, you'll help create a safe, engaging, and inclusive learning environment tailored to each pupil's individual needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide one-to-one and small group support
- Assist with personal care and mobility needs (where required)
- Support communication and sensory development
- Promote independence and emotional wellbeing
- Collaborate with staff and families to support pupil progress
Ideal Candidate:
- Experience working with children or young people with SEN (preferred)
- Calm, patient, and resilient approach
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Willingness to learn and adapt to different needs
- Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain one)
