The primary purpose of this role is to support the Dangerous Goods Safety Advisor in implementing, maintaining, and assuring compliance with Dangerous Goods policies and procedures, ensuring alignment with legal, contractual, and policy requirements. In addition, the role provides flexible support to the QSHE team, contributing across all pillars—Quality, Safety, Health, and Environment—wherever operational needs arise. This dynamic position offers the opportunity to work collaboratively across teams, helping to uphold high standards and drive continuous improvement in safety and compliance.
How you create impact
- Provide specialist advice to Management and Operations on Compliance with legislation, policy and contractual requirements affecting the storage and transport of hazardous substances, articles, and radiological protection.
- Monitor and provide assurance that Dangerous Goods/Radiation Process and legislation are adhered to on the contract
- Complete Internal Audit Process which satisfies the requirements of the dangerous goods requirements and KN Global process
- Liaise with Authority and other external auditors and ensuring the execution of corrective action and compliance with customers’ specifications
- Ensure legal documentation is maintained for audit and retained for the appropriate period along with ensuing local process and procedures are continually reviewed and updated as required.
- Deliver Dangerous Goods Awareness Training
- Support Operations on QSHE matters to enable goals, objectives and targets to be achieved
- Act as advisor to operations in the implementation and maintenance of policies and procedures
What we would like you to bring
- Essential – Already hold (Note: Willing to consider applicants without but required within 1st 3 months)
- Carriage of Dangerous Goods by Air (IATA)
- Carriage of Dangerous Goods by Road (ADR)
- Carriage of Dangerous Goods by Sea (IMDG)
- IOSH Managing Safety
- Audit Experience (ISO Standards 9001; 14001 & 45001 preferable). Willing to qualify as Lead Auditor
- Ability to implement dynamic solutions to counter changes in business trends
- Analytical / Report writing / Forward planning skills
- The following are desirable / Willing to Train
- ADR 1.8.3 DGSA Certificate
- RID 1.8.3 DGSA Certificate
- KN Global Basic DG Awareness CBT
- KN Comprehensive ADR Approver
- KN Comprehensive IMDG Approver
- Dangerous Goods Storage and Segregation
- Carriage of Lithium Batteries by Air, Road & Sea
- Radiation Safety Officer
- Class 7 Radioactive Excepted Packages Consignor Awareness
- NEBOSH NGC
- Integrated Management System Experience
- Logistics, Aviation, MOD, Automotive or similar industry experience
