Summary

We are looking to recruit a new member of staff to join our paediatric Hearing implant rehabilitation team for a fixed term maternity cover.

This post provides an exciting opportunity for QTOD’s, Educational Audiologist’s or Speech and Language Therapists to extend and consolidate their professional experience of working with infants and young people with conductive and severe to profound sensorineural hearing losses. The Emmeline Centre helps assess and monitor individuals that require support in using BCHD or implantable hearing devices.

This post will involve both in clinic and outreach working whilst aiming to fully utilise remote appointments where possible. If you are interested to find out more about the post or have any questions regarding the role then please contact us. We look forward to hearing from you.

You will provide a specialist hearing rehabilitation service as part of the regional hearing implant programme based at Addenbrooke’s Hospital. This involves assessing patients’ suitability for a hearing implant within a multidisciplinary team and supporting the patient with their communication throughout their rehabilitation journey. The majority of the caseload is with cochlear implants; however work with other hearing implants will also be part of the post.

You will be responsible for planning, implementing and evaluating care as a specialist clinician within the hearing rehabilitation team. The post holder will also offer training / supervision for other staff and students; contribute to maintaining and developing pathways of care, and participate in research and audit activity.
