Summary
Job Description: JOB TITLE: DISPENSER REPORTS TO: Dispensary Manager / Practice Manager HOURS: 37.5HRS TERMS: PERMANENT CONTRACT LOCATION: Praze Surgery & Connor Downs Surgery. Both our Surgeries are within 5 or 10 mins drive of the A30. Job Summary: The post-holder will be a Team player and project a positive and friendly image to dispensary patients and other visitors. Dealing with queries in a professional, courteous and efficient way.Assist in the preparation and dispensing of prescriptions and assist with stock control, ordering and re-stocking of the dispensary. The role requires the postholder to have a full clean driving licence.Duties & Responsibilities: Dispensing Dispensing acute prescriptions. Dispensing repeat prescriptions requests received by e-mail and Godolphin Health website. Updating patients repeat screens on Doctors instructions. Dispensing private prescriptions. Dosette box packaging and checking Dosette boxes. Ensuring the Dispensary area remains clean and tidy. Prescriptions Handing out prescriptions and collecting charges when appropriate. Liaising with medication delivery service. Taking prescription repeats in person within the practice dispensary. Generating prescriptions. Completing backs of prescriptions accurately. Sorting and endorsing prescriptions. Processing and bundling prescriptions for the Prescription Pricing Authority. Stock Control Ordering appropriate quantities of goods via the wholesalers computer link. Checking goods as and when they are delivered on a daily basis. Being responsible for the receipt and recording of controlled drugs. Returning incorrect goods to the wholesalers. Stocking shelves, refrigerators and other storage areas using rotation method. Removing out of date stock from the shelves, refrigerators and other storage areas. Disposal of returned unused medicines. Other Undertake Dispensary Review of Medicines with patients. Participate in ongoing and ad hoc audits. Provide cover to the other Surgery at last minute notice. Please note that this position requires a standing position for long periods.
