Summary
A busy Local Authority in the East Midlands has multiple vacancies for Class 2 and 3 Building Control Surveyors.
Job Duties:
To examine deposited plans to ensure that proposed work satisfies the relevant requirements. To carry out site visits to ensure that building work is carried out in accordance with the requirements of theBuilding Act and other relevant legislation.To visit sites, make reports and take action in relation to dangerous structures and demolition sites. To undertake enforcement procedures in relation to building work not in compliance with legal requirements. To give advice to assist architects, engineers and the public regarding building control requirements andTo liaise with the Fire Service, Severn Trent, Environment Agency, and other internal / external agenciesTo maintain adequate and relevant records of all sites visited in accordance with stated procedures
The protection of health and safety by the assessment of building work and the requirement of any necessary changesTo ensure compliance with the Building Regulations and associated legislationThe provision of adequate fire safety and means of escape in case of fire in buildings and sports grounds.The protection of the public in relation to dangerous structures, demolitions and attendance at sports groundsTo require provision to be made in building work to ensure adequate conservation of fuel and power.To enforce the relevant requirements of the Building Regulations which make provision of access to and facilities inBuildings for disabled personsTo ensure that the policies of the council relating to equal opportunities are implemented in the carrying out of BuildingControl procedures.To help ensure that the Council's sustainable development and environmental improvement policies areImplemented and practised within the department
About YouYou will be a seasoned Building Control inspector who has passed the new classification levels.Either MCABE, MRICS MCIOB ideally along with qualification as either Class 2 or Class 3 Building Control.
This is inside IR35 and is paying a market-leading rate.
