Summary

What is the job role?

The Governors of John Shelton Primary School are seeking to appoint a Site Services Officer as soon as possible. We are looking to add to our team an enthusiastic, conscientious and self-motivated person who would like to provide a key role in maintaining our school site, to ensure a welcoming and safe environment for the whole school community. The children are the heart of our school and we are seeking someone with the same outlook and ethos as the John Shelton School team.


Duties will include:

• Lock and unlock the school, performing regular security checks on the building

• Carry out and record basic checks, helping to maintain Health and Safety records

• Support the maintenance of the school's property and grounds, including liaising with contractors

• Monitor site stock and order necessary supplies

• Demonstrate experience in DIY and the ability to competently carry out minor repairs, general maintenance, and decorating

• Willingness to attend training courses including Health and Safety




Who are we looking for?

The ideal candidate will have:


• Previous experience in a similar site maintenance or caretaking role, preferably within an educational setting

• Strong practical skills and a willingness to attend relevant training courses, including Health and Safety

• A proactive and reliable attitude, with a keen eye for detail and a commitment to maintaining a safe and well-presented school environment

• Excellent communication skills, able to liaise effectively with a range of stakeholders

• A flexible and adaptable attitude, willing to take on a variety of tasks as required
