Education Welfare - Elective Home Education ref 0009 DF23 / 1
We are seeking 2 x Agency workers who have experience of working in educational settings and / or Family Services that will be able to fulfill the role of working with schools and families with regards to Elective Home Education,. This would be, at the point of referral, to meet with family, school and pupil when parents have decided they would like to Electively Home Educate to see if an agreement can be reached for the child to remain in school. This would require very clear negotiation and diplomatic skills. Should it be that the family still want to Electively Home Educate then there would be discussion with the cluster Education Welfare Officer regarding management of the case. This would also involve RAG rating of all cases and researching any background information and then recording on the system database. the successful applicants will need to have an understanding of education, parents rights, Elective Home Education, safeguarding and be able to develop a n good working relationship and report with young people, families and school staff. Successful applicants would also need and up to date knowledge of SEN. On receipt of CV, shortlisting will take place and successful applicants will be invited to interview on Monday 8th September 2025 at Normanton Town Hall.
