Summary
Job Overview
-We are seeking a highly skilled Construction Project Manager with experience in pharmaceutical or GMP-regulated environments to lead the planning, execution, and delivery of construction projects within our facilities. The successful candidate will ensure that all projects meet regulatory standards, are completed on time and within budget, and support the operational needs of pharmaceutical manufacturing and research.
Main Duties
-Manage end-to-end construction and facilities projects
-Responsible for the successful initiation, planning, design, execution, monitoring, controlling and closure of projects
-Have a commercial understanding of the project, advising and implementing cost savings at all times.
-Ensure compliance with GMP, and other relevant regulatory standards.
-Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Quality, Engineering, and Operations.
-Develop and manage project budgets, schedules, and risk assessments.
-Oversee contractor performance, ensuring adherence to safety and quality standards.
-Coordinate commissioning and qualification activities
-Maintain accurate documentation and reporting throughout the project lifecycle.
-Lead project meetings and communicate progress to stakeholders and senior leadership.
-Ensure projects are effectively resourced and manages relationships with a wide range of groups.
-Responsible for owning the permit process for Mitie projects, working with the technical supervisors where required to ensure they are in place and correctly closed.
-Recording and managing project issues and escalating where necessary.
-Monitor & Report project progress and performance.
-Respond to any emergency calls in and out of hours as required
What we are looking for
-Ideally a degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
-Minimum 5 years of experience managing construction projects in pharmaceutical or life sciences environments.
-Strong understanding of GMP, and pharmaceutical facilities.
-Proficiency in project management tools and excellent computer skills
-Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
-Experience with HVAC, process utilities, and automation systems in pharma settings.
-Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced, regulated environment.
-Strong problem-solving and decision-making capabilities.
-A highly focused individual, motivating and driving performance through high standards of service and effectiveness
-Must have nature to represent Mitie with professionalism, integrity and honesty at all times.
-Pro-active good at planning ahead as far as possible as the project progresses, checking back to plans/programmes regularly
-Strong sense of achievement; able to drive projects forward, expects good standards of work and able to overcome barriers/ solve problems.
-Experience of working in a challenging and fast paced environment
-Understanding of risk management and HSE
-Customer care/relationship building skills
-Able to work as a member of a team
-Able to work without direct supervision
