We are seeking a skilled and motivated Sous Chef to join our catering team.
In this role, you will be responsible for preparing, cooking, and presenting meals to a high standard while ensuring food safety, hygiene, and customer satisfaction.
Working closely with the Catering Manager and wider kitchen staff, you will help deliver a consistently excellent dining experience.
The Role
Prepare and cook meals in line with menus, dietary requirements, and portion control standards.
Maintain high levels of food hygiene, health, and safety in accordance with company policies and statutory requirements.
Assist in menu planning, stock control, and ordering supplies to ensure efficiency and minimise waste.
Work collaboratively with colleagues to provide a smooth and professional catering service.
Ensure kitchen equipment is used safely, cleaned regularly, and maintained in good working condition.
Support the Catering Manager in implementing food service standards and improving customer experience.
Assist in training and mentoring junior staff, promoting teamwork and best practice.
About You
Proven experience working as a Chef in a commercial or institutional catering environment.
Strong knowledge of food preparation, presentation, and portion control.
Understanding of food hygiene, allergens, and health and safety requirements (Level 2 Food Safety Certificate desirable).
Ability to work effectively under pressure and adapt to changing demands.
Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
A positive, proactive attitude with a commitment to delivering high-quality food and service.
