Summary

I am looking for a Residential Support Worker to join a children's residential care service, providing high-quality support for children and young people. This is a full-time permanent role based in Ashford, Kent, with a salary of £28,660-£33,025 per annum.

Applicants must have the right to work in the UK; sponsorship is not available for this role.

Responsibilities

  • Support the educational, social, emotional, and behavioural development of children and young people.

  • Assist with implementing Individual Care Plans and monitor progress.

  • Provide personal care and help children/young people develop independence.

  • Participate in residential duties, including evenings, weekends, and sleep-in shifts.

  • Maintain accurate records of children/young people's progress and daily routines.

  • Work collaboratively with colleagues, external professionals, and management to ensure high standards of care.

  • Promote a safe, nurturing, and supportive environment for children and young people.

Requirements

  • Previous experience working with children or young people - essential.

  • Willingness to work towards NVQ Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent).

  • Full, clean UK driving licence - essential.

  • Ability to work flexible shifts, including evenings and weekends.

  • Strong communication, empathy, patience, and interpersonal skills.

  • Commitment to supporting and safeguarding young people.

Shifts

  • Residential care shifts including evenings, weekends, and sleep-in duties.
