Summary

Job Summary To provide leadership for the podiatry service within the field of High Risk and Diabetic care. To advise and interpret national professional policies for the specialist area and contribute to the ongoing strategic planning of diabetes services. To provide expert clinical practice in the assessment and diagnosis of highly complex podiatric problems and deliver individualised treatment for clients with specialised care needs to maintain their mobility, independence and prevent disability. Acting as a source of clinical expertise for diabetic footcare, working as part of the Multidisciplinary Diabetic Footcare Team (MDFT) to ensure an effective coordinated service. Development, implementation and review of patient & clinical pathways, standard operating procedures (SOPs) and clinical guidance for the High Risk podiatric service. Working with Manager for Podiatry and Orthotics to create business cases to develop the High Risk service to maintain up to date patient care in accordance with national policies & local projects. Lead the ongoing development of podiatry staff through clinical rotations, mentoring and supervision. To deliver training to podiatrists and other health care practitioners on management of highly complex podiatric patients.
