P+S Personnel are pleased to be working on behalf of our clients, who are currently recruiting for a Cable Moulding Technician, to join their team on a full-time, permanent basis.
Main Responsibilities:
Cable Preparation:
• Strip and prepare cable ends (electrical and/or optical) to specified lengths and standards.
• Terminate wires or fibres to connectors as per technical specifications.
• Clean and inspect materials for defects or damage prior to moulding.
Soldering & Assembly:
• Solder cable conductors and connector pins accurately to ensure reliable electrical connections.
• Assemble components and ensure proper alignment before moulding.
• Operate and maintain soldering equipment safely and effectively.
Moulding & Overmoulding:
• Set up and operate cable moulding machines (e.g., injection or low-pressure moulding).
• Mix and apply potting compounds and epoxy resins accurately.
• Ensure moulding achieves watertight and pressure-resistant seals.
Quality Assurance:
• Perform initial quality checks on cables, soldered joints, and connectors produced.
• Ensure adherence to ISO 9001 quality standards and company procedures.
• Minimise rejection levels by following established procedures.
Safety & Compliance:
• Adhere to all health, safety, and environmental regulations.
• Participate in company audits and implement corrective actions as required.
• Maintain a clean and organised work environment.
Person Specification:
• Proven experience in cable moulding, cable assembly, soldering, or a related manufacturing role.
• Familiarity with subsea cable systems and associated moulding techniques is advantageous.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and wiring diagrams.
• Experience with soldering electrical and/or fibre-optic cables.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
• Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team.
Working Benefits:
• Flexible hours between 7:00-19:00 (core hours 10:00-12:00 and 14:00-15:00).
• 25 Days annual leave plus ability to earn an additional 12 days (built with flexi time).
