An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the expanding and innovative administration team within the Reading Mental Health Service, in the role of full time Administrator. This post is based at Prospect Park Hospital, Monday to Friday from 9am to 5pm i.e. 37.5 hours per week, supporting a dynamic and multidisciplinary team.

We are looking for someone with a strong grasp of office procedures, particularly skilled in minute taking and handling service calls professionally and efficiently. The ideal candidate will be approachable, have a warm personality, and demonstrate excellent communication and organisational skills.

The Mental Health Administration Team takes pride in the continuous support we provide to our clinical colleagues. Effective teamwork is a cornerstone of our community services and essential to delivering high-quality care.

You will be working alongside a supportive team led by the Business Support Manager, and including Mental Health Nurses, Service Managers, and other healthcare professionals, including medical consultants.
• Post Holder will be responsible to be thecentralpointof contact andmaintainrelationships across the services,assistingthe Reading Mental Health Serviceteam in thedevelopment and maintenance of efficient and effective office procedures

• To use RIOtocheck referrals,help co-ordinateand book appointments

• Maintain effective communication across the service, including procedures for answering telephones and taking messages. Report any faults with telephone equipment to relevant parties andmonitoruntil any issues are resolved.

• Responsible foradministrative task, asdesignatedbyBusiness Support Manager, the ordering of stationaryandmaintainingoffice supplies.

• Support projects within the service by undertaking various administrative and clerical tasks

• Attend designated meetings where the information may be complex and sensitive,takingand transcribing minutes. Distribute information prior to and after meetings ina timelyway.

The “must haves” for this role:
• NVQ3 or equivalent qualification/experience
• Basic knowledge of administration and/or office procedures
• Previous knowledge and experience of working in an office and/or customer care environment, undertaking a full range of administrative duties, including minute-taking
• Knowledge and experience of using a variety of software programmes/packages, including Microsoft Office Suite.
