Summary
Job Overview:
We are currently seeking a compassionate and dedicated Support Worker to join our team to work in the provision of overall support and development to residents in a residential care setting. The support will be provided in accordance with the individual’s ‘Care and Support Plan’.
We aim to care for individuals who need support for their rehabilitation and/or cognitive problems in a community setting for long or interim periods. Individuals may have a combination of problems and a mixture of care needs from Learning Disability, Mental Health, and Acquired Brain Injury.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
Responsibilities and support to Service Users.
Staff and Personnel Issues.
Household and Administrative Responsibilities.
Organisational Responsibilities.
Duties:
- Providing personal care to individuals, including assistance with bathing, dressing, and grooming
- Administering medication as prescribed and maintaining accurate records
- Assisting with meal preparation.
- Implementing behaviour management strategies to support individuals with challenging behaviours.
- Offering emotional support and companionship to individuals under care
Qualifications:
- While holding a QCF/NVQ Level 2 in Health & Social Care is desirable, it is not essential. Full training will be provided. However, successful applicants will be required to undertake the QCF Level 2 Health & Social Care qualification in accordance with Social Care Wales registration requirements.
- Ability to drive and possess a valid UK driving licence is advantageous but not required.
- Demonstrate previous training within Health & Social Care.
