Summary
Carry out programmes of care and treatment with the support of the senior haematology clinical nurse specialist. Influence and monitor the standards of direct haematology patient care delivery in accordance with best practice, operational protocols and guidelines. Manages clinical caseload on a day- today basis including making minor modifications within prescribed parameters reporting back to the lead clinician. Deliver education programmes to patients, carers and other nursing staff as agreed by the senior haematology clinical nurse specialist. Act as a role model, providing advice and specialist knowledge to other nursing / medical staff caring for patients / clients within the speciality. Participates in research and audit as part of the multi- professional team within the speciality. Ensure that high quality data is collected for both audit and research trials as required. Communicates effectively with colleagues, patients and other users of the Trust. Provides written communications that are clear, fluent, concise and easily understood. Under supervision and guidance provide ongoing support and management strategies to patientswithin the haematology service. Ensure current registration with NMC. Liaises with Consultants, Ward/Department Team/Matrons/Multi-Disciplinary Team and other Wards and Departments as appropriate to ensure patients receive optimum care.
