Summary

To independently assess and justify examinations under the Ionising Radiation (Medical Exposure) Regulations IR (ME) R 2000 To perform imaging examinations at a consistently high technical and professional standard of work, and to evaluate the clinical quality of images produced Assess, prioritise and organise own workload within assigned area and work within own professional scope of practice Work independently when providing a standby and on-call service to patients requiring urgent imaging due to trauma or acute illness Prioritise own workload, depending on the severity of a patient condition and the direct impact on their assessment, diagnosis and /or management Be responsible for maintaining accurate patient records Supervise junior members of staff, students and support personnel as required. Teach, assess and report on (for the university) student Radiographers competence on a range of complex diagnostic procedures Following attendance of a Red Dot course and in line with departmental protocol identify areas(s) of abnormality/ trauma on accident & emergency referral images Undertake any duties assigned by the management team commensurate with the post. Ensure all infection control standards are adhered to & high levels of cleanliness are maintained. Ensure that equipment faults/ safety hazards are reported promptly and appropriate action taken Participate in audit and Quality Assurance programmes, as requested Participate in Clinical trials and new equipment evaluation, as requested Comply with the implementation of National standards and policies such as: Health & Safety, including risk assessment and COSHHRadiation Protection ProceduresIonisation Radiation Medical Exposures) Regulations 2000IR (ME) R-2000 Observe & apply Trust policies, departmental protocols, care group risk management strategy, data protection, Equal opportunities and Codes of practice
