Description
We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Senior Social Worker (SSW) to join our Kinship Team within the Fostering Service. This position is ideal for a compassionate professional who demonstrates a strong commitment to improving the lives of vulnerable children and their families. The SSW will play a critical role in supporting kinship carers and ensuring that children placed in their care receive the highest level of support and protection. You will lead the assessment process, develop robust care plans, and provide ongoing supervision and support for kinship placements. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with local authorities, foster care agencies, and community resources to foster positive relationships and holistic support for families. Your expertise will guide the team in implementing best practices and maintaining compliance with regulatory frameworks. You will also facilitate training and support for new social workers within the team. Responsibilities
Lead the assessment process for potential kinship carers.
Develop and implement care plans that meet the individual needs of children and families.
Provide support, supervision, and guidance to kinship carers throughout the placement.
Conduct regular reviews and evaluations of kinship placements to ensure child welfare.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and external agencies to enhance service delivery.
Deliver training and mentorship to junior social workers and team members.
Stay updated on legislation and best practices in fostering and kinship care.
Requirements
A recognized social work qualification and current registration with the appropriate professional body.
Minimum of 3 years' experience in social work, with a focus on child welfare and family support.
Proven experience working within a kinship care environment or similar settings.
Strong understanding of legislation and policies related to fostering and child protection.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to engage effectively with families and stakeholders.
Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within a team and lead initiatives.
Strong assessment and analytical skills with attention to detail.
Hours Per Week: 36.00
Start Time: 08:45
End Time: 17:15
Pay Per Hour: £22.51
