Description
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Contact Supervision Worker to join our team. This role is crucial in facilitating safe and supportive contact arrangements for children and their families, particularly for those who are experiencing separation due to social services intervention or family court orders. As a Contact Supervision Worker, you will be responsible for overseeing interactions between children and their parents or guardians, ensuring that these exchanges occur in a safe environment that promotes well-being and positive family relationships. You will work collaboratively with various agencies, including social workers, legal representatives, and therapists, to develop and implement individualized contact plans that meet the unique needs of each family. Your role will involve careful observation and documentation of contact sessions, providing feedback to relevant stakeholders, and offering guidance and support to both parents and children during these interactions. Responsibilities
Conduct and supervise contact sessions between children and parents or guardians
Create and implement individualized contact plans based on the unique needs of families
Document observations and interactions during contact sessions
Collaborate with social workers, therapists, and legal representatives to ensure compliance with court orders and best practices
Provide feedback to relevant stakeholders regarding child and parent behavior during contacts
Support and guide parents in improving their parenting skills
Attend meetings and training sessions to stay updated on relevant policies and practices
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in social work, psychology, or a related field
Previous experience working with children and families in a social care setting
Strong observational and documentation skills
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to remain calm and composed in challenging situations
Knowledge of child development and family dynamics
Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
