The role:
On behalf of a local council, we are seeking a Personal Advisor Leaving Care. This is a Social Care Unqualified role.
The Leaving Care Personal Advisor role is very specific to the Leaving Care Act. It is essential that you have some experience/ knowledge of working with young people aged 16-25, be able to build positive relationships with young people, completing assessments, children's safeguarding and good written and IT skills.
This post is 22.5 hours per week, equivalent to 3 days per week. The team are flexible on which 3 days you work or how the hours are spread throughout the working week.
Key Responsibilities may include:
Provide advice, support, and practical assistance to care leavers aged 16–25.
Build and maintain positive, trusting relationships with young people.
Undertake assessments and pathway planning in line with statutory requirements.
Support young people with education, training, employment, housing, and financial independence.
Monitor progress, keeping accurate records and written reports.
Safeguard and promote the welfare of young people in accordance with council policies
What the client is looking for:
Previous experience as a Leaving Care Personal Advisor
Good understanding of the Leaving Care Act
Previous experience/ knowledge of working with young people aged 16-25
Able to build positive relationships with young people
Experience of completing assessments
A good understanding of children's safeguarding
Good written and IT skills.
