Experience of teaching Year 2 is desirable but we encourage ECTs to apply. Term of contract: Temporary contract due to maternity leave.

The successful candidate will:

  • Demonstrate a clear commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all children, understanding their responsibility to keep pupils safe at all times.
  • Have high expectations of pupils learning, behaviourand personal development
  • recognising the potential of every child.
  • Create a nurturing, inclusive and engaging learning environment where children feel valued, safe and inspired to achieve.
  • Possess a secure knowledge of the Key Stage 1 curriculum, with particular understanding of age-related expectations in reading, writing and mathematics.
  • Plan and deliver creative, stimulating and well-structured lessons that meet the needs of all learners, including those with additional needs.
  • Show strong classroom management skills, rooted in positive relationships, consistency and clear routines.
  • Use effective assessment strategies to inform planning, track progress and provide constructive feedback that supports pupil achievement.
  • Communicate effectively with children, parents, colleagues and external agencies, building positive relationships that support pupils wellbeing and learning.
  • Be reflective, resilient and committed to their own professional development, actively engaging with school priorities and continuous improvement.
  • Contribute to the wider life of the school, supporting its ethos, Christian values and community links.
  • Work collaboratively as part of a small, supportive team, contributing to a culture of trust, respect and high standards.
