This is the heart of everything we do at St Joseph’s Catholic Primary School and, due to the retirement of the current postholder, we’re looking for a new School Business Manager who shares our mission and values to join our dedicated and nurturing team.
About the Role
We are seeking a professional, proactive and experienced School Business Manager to lead on the strategic and operational management of our school’s finances, administration, human resources, premises and health & safety.
This is a fantastic opportunity to become part of our vibrant school community and help shape the future for our children through the effective leadership of our non-teaching functions.
The post is term time only, with additional working weeks negotiable, and is paid on a pro rata basis in line with Wigan Council’s salary structure.
To support a smooth handover, a transition period in Autumn Term 2025 will be arranged with the successful candidate.

We Are Looking For Someone Who:
- Has experience in financial and resource management, ideally within education or the public sector
- Understands the key responsibilities of HR, premises and health & safety management
- Can think strategically and work collaboratively with the Headteacher and Governors
- Has excellent organisational skills, attention to detail and strong IT capability
- Is committed to safeguarding, equality, and upholding the Catholic values of our school
- Works with integrity, professionalism and discretion
