Strategic Communications and Engagement

The City of London Corporation is seeking and engaging and collaborative Senior Communications and Stakeholder Engagement Manager to provide dedicated support to the Regeneration & Development Group.

This is an integral role for a newly formed Group leading on its Communications and Engagement Strategy reporting into both the Strategic Communications and Corporate Affairs Director, and into the Director: Regeneration & Development.

You will be responsible for providing an enhanced proactive communications and engagement capability for a campaign that will be essential to reinforcing the City Corporation’s core narrative and engagement strategy, for a programme of significant scale, and significant potential reputational implications initiatives for one of the world's most iconic and complex public institutions.

What You'll Do

- Be responsible for the communication and stakeholder engagement strategy in direct support of the Market Sites Regeneration Programme (MSRP) and team.
- Lead on maintaining trust and credibility, ensuring accurate, timely, transparent, and reliable communications.
- Hold responsibility for communications risk and issues management, including monitoring of emerging issues and trends with coordination of proactive responses to mitigate reputational threats.
- Build strong relationships with relevant external organisations such as the GLA, TfL, and government departments to develop and secure positive external two-way communications
- Provide strategic media and communications advice to senior Members and Officers, with a specialist focus on issues relating to the Programme.
- Maintain and update the core script for the MSRP Programme.

- An enthusiastic and proactive engagement professional with considerable communications and engagement experience, including in management positions.
- Experience of developing and communicating messages in a complex regulatory environment.
- Highly effective networker and relationship-builder and comfortable with senior colleagues.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
