32.5 hours per week – Term Time OnlyGrade 4 – (£25,583 x 77.15%)Start Date: October 2025 The Governing Body wish to appoint a School Clerk (Level 2) to work at Maesgwyn Special School to complement our existing team. Maesgwyn Special School is a vibrant and inclusive learning community for pupils aged 11-19 with complex learning difficulties, including autistic spectrum disorder (ASD), moderate to severe learning difficulties, physical difficulties, and Behaviour, Emotional & Social Difficulties (BESD).Our ethos is rooted in wellbeing, ensuring that every learner feels supported, valued, and empowered to achieve their full potential. We offer a balanced academic and vocational curriculum, enabling our pupils to develop the skills, confidence, and resilience needed for lifelong success. Main duties of the roleOrganisationUndertake reception duties, answering general telephone and face to face enquiries and signing in visitorsAssist with pupil first aid/welfare duties, looking after sick pupils, liaising with parents/staff etc.Assist in arrangements for school trips, events etc. AdministrationProvide general clerical/admin. support e.g. photocopying, filing, faxing, complete standard forms, respond to routine correspondenceMaintain manual and computerised records/management information systemsProduce management information required e.g. pupils’ dataUndertake typing and word-processing and other IT based tasksTake notes at meetingsSort and distribute mailUndertake administrative proceduresMaintain and collate pupil reportsUndertake routine administration of school lettings and other uses of school premises ResourcesOperate relevant equipment/ICT packages (e.g. word, excel, databases, spreadsheets, Internet Vision, Bromcom, Plasc)Maintain stock and supplies, cataloguing and distributing as requiredOperate uniform/snack/other ‘shops’ within the schoolProvide general advice and guidance to staff, pupils and othersUndertake general financial administration e.g. processing orders ResponsibilitiesComply with and assist senior management team in the development of school procedures i.e. childPromote equal opportunities and diversity within the workplace.Contribute to and support the schools cultureAppreciate and support the role of other professionalsAttend and participate in relevant meetings as requiredParticipate in training and other learning activities and performance development as required
