Summary
Responsibilities for the post will include supporting the care of the respiratory inpatients, inpatient referrals, assisting with the Lung Cancer service and developing other sub-specialty interests (Sleep or ILD) to support the sustainability and enhancement of services locally. Applicant with specific competencies or interests in subspecialty fields are encouraged to apply and development of specialist clinics within these areas will be fully supported, such as specialist ILD, sleep and ventilation clinics. The posts is associated with general medicine on call commitments which is currently 1 in 8 weekends. Following induction, the post holder will be usually expected to join the general medical on-call, centred around weekends in a 1:8 weekends format. This is remunerated in the standard 10 PAs. The intensity of this rota will be reviewed as the number of consultants increase. (CAT B). Additional sessions can be negotiated with Acute Medicine Team if the candidate wishes to undertake additional PAs.
