Summary

STEM Graduate Teaching Assistant

Salary: £25,000-£30,000 per annum (term time only)
Contract: Full-Time, Long-Term or Permanent

Do you have a strong academic background in a STEM subject (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics)?

Would you like to inspire future engineers, scientists, and mathematicians in a top-performing London school?

Can you see yourself building a career in education, starting with an immersive and rewarding Graduate Teaching Assistant role?

This highly technical school is looking for an exceptional STEM Graduate Teaching Assistant to join a high-performing school.

About the school

It is widely regarded as one of the most successful secondary schools in London.

Ofsted Rating: Outstanding (2023)
Progress 8 Score: +0.78 (well above national average)
STEM Excellence: 84% of students achieved Grades 7–9 in GCSE Mathematics in 2024, and 79% achieved Grades 7–9 in Combined Sciences.
University Pathways: Over 65% of sixth formers progressed to Russell Group universities last year, with a significant number securing places on Engineering, Medicine, and Computer Science courses.
Enrichment & Facilities: £12m STEM Innovation Centre boasts state-of-the-art laboratories, robotics suites, and coding hubs. Students regularly compete — and win — national competitions such as UKMT Maths Challenge and the Royal Society of Chemistry Olympiad.

They are proud to be at the forefront of STEM education in London, and as a Graduate Teaching Assistant, you will be fully involved in driving that success even further.

The Role

As a STEM Graduate Teaching Assistant, you will:

• Deliver targeted interventions in Mathematics and Science, working one-to-one and with small groups.
• Support teachers in planning, preparing, and delivering dynamic lessons across STEM subjects.
• Mentor high-achieving students preparing for university applications in STEM-related fields.
• Provide tailored support to pupils with SEN, ensuring equal access to the curriculum.
• Play an active role in enrichment — from coding clubs to science fairs and robotics competitions.
• Gain invaluable classroom experience and professional development, with a clear pathway into teacher training or further progression within education.

This is not a generic support role; it is a chance to actively contribute to the outcomes of some of London’s most aspirational young people. You’ll be challenged, supported, and given opportunities to upskill yourself through CPD, leadership coaching, and exposure to cutting-edge teaching practice.

Is this the right step for you?
