Summary
A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Maintenance Operative to join our Maintenance team at the China Fleet Country Club which is set in 180 acres of beautiful Cornish countryside, just 15 minutes from Plymouth’s city centre. We are a Country Club that offers accommodation, fitness & leisure, golf, dining, hair & beauty, weddings, conference and events.
As our Maintenance Operative you will manage repairs and maintenance across our Club inside and out to a consistently high level in a timely fashion. Maintaining our essential plant and equipment, which is vital to the running of the Club, minimising any downtime.
Duties will include but not limited to basic plumbing, carpentry, basic electrical tasks, tiling, painting and decorating. No two days are the same. You will be working 2 days per week and 1 Saturday in 4 with a day off during the week. Shifts are 8am to 4pm, and there may be the occasional requirement of starting earlier or finishing later which you will be compensated for.
You will be required to:
• Have a basic knowledge of Plumbing/Carpentry/Wall Tiling/Decorating skills/Basic electrical repairs
• Work on your own initiative as well as part of a team.
• Communicate effectively with both the public and work colleagues.
• Be fully familiar with and adhere to Health and Safety, fire regulations, lone working, and environmental considerations
The successful candidate will have proven experience working within the field of maintenance and repairs. You must also have a keen attention to detail and the ability to take initiative when tackling problems and prepared for out of hours call in an emergency. An electrical qualification, knowledge and experience of pool plant equipment, water and sewage treatment plants and HVAC would be an advantage, although these are not essential as training will be given.
