Summary
To be responsible for the day-to-day operational line management of the team, leading and ensuring a 24-hour, 7-day service is provided. To facilitate the admission and discharge of patients to and from the specialist unit. To work with all health care professionals, and statutory/non statutory agencies to provide a seamless, integrated service to patients To provide senior leadership with the expectation to cover service gaps as required. To ensure that patients, families and carers are involved in the planning and prioritisation of their rehabilitation care plans and discharge goal setting. To provide supervision, advice and support to other members of nursing staff and rehabilitation assistants within the team regarding management and care of people with complex nursing needs. To lead on recruitment including inductions for new staff, work experience placements and other learners. To monitor and manage staff absence, off duty including annual leave and study leave in line with NCH&Cs policies, procedures and guidelines. Escalate information if any significant trends / issues are identified. Establish clear, positive and credible leadership within the clinical team, promoting and supporting the maintenance of a cohesive multidisciplinary team. To manage the wards budget.
