Summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen to work with the Mayors Personal Assistant and Civic Casework Officer to support the elected Mayor of Bedford Borough with civic and ceremonial events.



This is a part time role, working flexibly 25 hours per week across Monday to Sunday, as required.



The role requires full and effective support for the Mayor of Bedford Borough with the organisation for civic ceremonial events arranged or hosted by the Mayor or Council, and to support other members of the civic team.



In addition, you will look after the civic regalia and be responsible for the running of the Mayors Parlour in liaison with the Mayors Personal Assistant.



We are looking for an individual, preferably with civic or event experience, who is a great communicator and team player, who can build positive working relationships with both the Mayors Support team, the wider civic team, dignitaries and external bodies in the Borough of Bedford.



You will be smart, professional and well organised, have good verbal and written communication skills, be able to prioritise work effectively, can work on own initiative and have good IT skills.



The role requires you to have a full and clean driving licence and be able to drive an automatic vehicle for civic events.



For civic and ceremonial events, you will be required to wear a black trouser suit, white shirt, tie and appropriate footwear.
