Job Description:
We are looking for a friendly and motivatedFood Service Assistant to join our team at HMRC Belfast. You’ll play a key role in delivering excellent customer service through the preparation, presentation, and service of food and beverages. From creating barista-style drinks to supporting food service and maintaining a clean, welcoming environment, you’ll help ensure every customer has a great experience.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare and serve food and beverages to a high standard, ensuring customer satisfaction.
Provide advice and guidance on menu choices, including awareness of dietary requirements (e.g., allergies to nuts, dairy, or wheat).
Prepare and serve barista-style beverages.
Operate tills and handle cash transactions accurately.
Replenish stock, food, and equipment during service to avoid interruptions.
Maintain cleanliness across kitchen, café, dining, and service areas, following cleaning schedules and safety standards.
Follow health and safety, food safety, and hygiene practices at all times.
Support stock control, including deliveries, storage, and rotation (FIFO).
Assist with pot wash, utensils, crockery, and general cleaning tasks.
Report any maintenance issues or safety hazards promptly.
Work flexibly to cover holidays and sickness when required.
Contribute ideas in team meetings to improve service and enhance the customer experience.
What You’ll Need:
Previous experience in catering, hospitality, or food service is desirable.
Strong customer service skills with a positive, can-do attitude.
Ability to work under pressure while maintaining high standards.
Good communication skills and a team-focused approach.
High levels of personal hygiene and smart appearance.
Understanding of health & safety, food safety, and cleaning procedures.
Flexibility to work additional hours when needed.
