Summary

Hull City Council is seeking a highly motivated and experienced individual to join our dedicated team as a Public Safety Control Room Supervisor. This is a vital role in ensuring the safety, security, and wellbeing of our residents, visitors, and businesses.
Based in our Public Safety Control Room, you will lead a team responsible for monitoring CCTV, alarm activations and response, key holding, coordinating responses to incidents, and supporting emergency services and council departments. You will play a key role in keeping Hull safe, providing reassurance to the public, and helping to tackle crime and antisocial behaviour across the city.
Key Responsibilities


Supervise daily operations within the Public Safety Control Room, ensuring staff deliver an effective 24/7 service.


Oversee the monitoring of CCTV, alarm systems, Key holding and other security technologies.


Coordinate responses to incidents and emergencies, working closely with police, emergency services, and council teams.


Lead, support, and develop a team of control room operators, ensuring high performance and professionalism.


Ensure compliance with legislation, including data protection and CCTV codes of practice.


Maintain accurate records, and contribute to the continuous improvement of the service.


We are looking for someone with:


Experience of working in a control room, emergency service, or security environment.


Strong leadership skills with the ability to supervise and motivate a team.


Excellent communication and decision-making skills, particularly under pressure.


Good knowledge of relevant legislation and industry standards.


A commitment to public safety, customer service, and partnership working.
