Summary

We are seeking an exceptionally organised individual to provide business support to personnel based at Shrivenham in the efficient and effective running of their area.
The Business Support Officer (BSO) is key to delivering quality services to support the needs of the organisation. The BSO will provide consistent high quality levels of service delivery across the organisation acting as a proactive and agile team member working alongside Senior Leaders’ PA’s and Team Desk Officers. The BSO will support the smooth running of the day-to-day business and will have a flexible working approach to accommodate an often-demanding environment.
This position is advertised at 37 hours per week.

Undertake learning and development and upskilling as required.
Conference & Events Supervisor for all conference applications and enquires from staff and outside agencies, ensuring that the planning, organisation and liaison is successfully carried out with all stakeholders to guarantee seamless events.
Lead for all Safety, Health, Environment and Fire (SHEF) within the Building. Keep up to date with legislation and procedures. Member of MOD Shrivenham site SHEF Representative Committee. This will include building maintenance reporting and being fire marshal (once trained) and will also include liaising with contractors to complete works.
Working with the teams, develop and maintain operating processes to create a portfolio of aligned business rules, ensuring that work flows more efficiently though the organisation.
Account holder for the on-line MOD procurement system. Oversee and action Contracting, Purchasing and Finance (CP&F) to support business outcomes.
Commodity manager, committing expenditure in line with signed Letter Of Delegation to include the approval of reprographics, stationery, parcels, accommodation & passport/visa photos, transport reconciliation, ensuring travel logs are up to date and assisting with ad hoc finance requirements.
Oversee staff travel and manage/book travel for staff members providing advice to ensure the most cost effective and efficient solutions are fully explored and utilised, ensuring appropriate approval has been sought.
Support and book military travel requests.
Maintain the Building dog register in line with MOD Shrivenham Station orders.
