Summary
Role: FLT Driver
• Licence required: Counterbalance (dated within the past 3 years)
• Location: Leyland, Lancashire
• Pay: £12.50 per hour (in line with permanent staff)
• Pay frequency: Paid on Friday for previous weeks worked hours
• Start date: As soon as possible
Shift available:
• 1 x temporary ongoing, full time: Monday to Friday, 2pm - 10pm
• 1 x holiday cover (only): Monday 29th September to Friday 3rd October - 2pm - 10pm
The roles above are set shifts in addition to roles advertised and filled previously, due to a period of expansion and holiday.
Role summary:
We are currently recruiting an experienced FLT Driver with Counterbalance experience in a fast moving warehouse environment (certification or refresher within the past 3 years) to join a reputable client in Leyland.
The successful candidates will be responsible for operating forklifts safely and efficiently within a warehouse and production environment, ensuring smooth materials handling to support ongoing operations.
Key Responsibilities:
• Safely operate relevant Forklift Truck in a busy warehouse setting.
• Load and unload goods and materials from delivery vehicles.
• Move stock to designated storage areas and organize inventory within the warehouse.
• Ensure that stock is handled carefully to prevent damage and maintain product quality.
• Maintain accurate records of stock movement, including materials received and dispatched.
• Perform regular safety checks and report any faults or issues with equipment.
• Always adhere to health and safety policies and procedures.
• Assist with general warehouse duties, such as picking and packing when required.
• Work efficiently to meet production targets and deadlines.
Forklift experience, inhouse or external (RTITB, ITSAAR or BRITTOp desirable) within the past 3 years (proof of certification / refresher required).
Key requirements:
• Previous experience working as a FLT driver within a warehouse environment is preferred.
• Strong understanding of warehouse operations and safety procedures.
• Good attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
• Physically capable of carrying out manual tasks, such as lifting and moving stock.
• A proactive approach to problem-solving and a positive attitude to work.
Role type:
• Temporary, based on business demand and requirements.
• Shifts may be offered on site following holiday cover based on business demand and requirements.
