The Youth team is an innovative team that has responsibility for a range of cross cutting and high profile policy areas, including delivering the National Youth Strategy, supporting youth sector workforce, and ensuring the impactful delivery of a range of revenue and capital programmes

This role is in an exciting and fast moving environment, helping to deliver the Government’s National Youth Strategy. In particular, you will be responsible for achieving the Government's vision for young people to be highly involved in shaping local, national and international youth policy and practice. In addition, you will lead on the following
- Policy and programmes to increase young people’s rates of volunteering and social action.
- International youth representation and policy, covering international fora, such as the Council of Europe and international programmes such as Erasmus+
- Responsible for maintaining the legacy of the National Citizen Service programmes.
- Leading on the development and oversight of national grants that support young peoples’ access to opportunities for development and fun, including clubs, activities and outdoor adventures.
This is a great role for someone who likes working directly with young people and external stakeholders, and thrives on seeing citizens more directly engaged in policy making. You will be the lead for the team on our relationship with the CSY volunteering team, and DCMS international team. You will work with a range of stakeholders and have regular contact with Ministers.
You will lead a team of 3 x G7 Team Leaders and 7 junior staff (2 x EOs, 3 x HEOs, 2 x SEOs)
