Summary

Applicants are invited to apply for a Postdoctoral Research Associate (PDRA) position to join our Yorkshire Cancer Research Pioneer Fund on developing sustainable bio-inspired magnetobots for cancer theranostics. The post holder will join the Microbial Biotechnology & Bioprocessing group as part of the Energy and Bioproducts Research Institute (EBRI) and the Aston Institute for Membrane Excellence (AIME).

The successful applicant will hold a PhD qualification and have experience in microbiology, genetic engineering and bioprocessing. Applications are also welcome from candidates currently pursuing or nearing the completion of a relevant PhD.

Essential hand on skills include the cultivation of microbes, expression of recombinant proteins and bioprocess development. Expertise in magnetic materials and their characterization will be valuable. Strong organizational, communication, and teamwork skills are important, along with knowledge of laboratory safety (especially involving the use of nanomaterials. Ability to quickly pick up new concepts and work with tight deadlines are highly desirable.
