Summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a full time Band 3 HCA to join our friendly, enthusiastic and committed team. The multidisciplinary team covers Knowsley providing Integrated Sexual Health and Contraception services under “axess”. The post on offer is a permanent position.
Applicants must be able to travel to our peripheral sites. Flexibility is needed to work a range of early and evening shifts. The position will be based at Knowsley Sexual Health Service, Huyton .
Candidates will be considered for a band 3 position if they hold an NVQ level 3 or equivalent, a national care certificate or willingness to undertake this. It is essential to have extensive IT skills, be a quick learner and have an ability to adapt to a fast paced environment. Good communication skills and venepuncture are also essential for this role. Previous experience of working within a sexual health / contraception service is desirable but is not essential.
We offer a structured induction plan and on-going support using our whole team consisting of an existing HCA team, assistant practitioners, band 6, 7 and 8a specialist nurses, specialist doctors and consultants. We are committed to developing the successful applicant with support and on-going training.
The successful applicant will be required to deliver patient care demonstrating professionalism, working within competency and excellent communication skills in all aspects of their work.
Flexibility to cover various shifts and locations is essential for the role.

The role is varied. Skills includes venepuncture, assisting with procedures, recording of base line observations, ordering of stock and replenishment. STI screening for asymptomatic patients with onward referral when necessary is a requirement of this role. Administrative duties and computer literacy are also essential.
Once skilled and competent the post holder will have an autonomous role within the team.
Flexibility is required with an expectation to work a minimum of 2 late shifts per week.
