The Role – Psychology Graduate SEN Teaching Assistant

• Full-time, long-term role starting September
• Provide 1:1 and small-group support to students with complex needs
• Assist with communication, emotional regulation, and daily routines
• Collaborate with SEN teachers, therapists, and support staff to deliver personalised support plans
• Contribute to classroom management and create a positive, engaging learning environment
• Gain exposure to therapeutic approaches, intervention strategies, and EHCP processes

Person Specification

• Minimum 2:1 degree in Psychology (or related subject)
• Previous experience supporting young people with SEN (school, youth work, tutoring, care) is desirable
• Empathetic, patient, and resilient with a calm, confident approach
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• A genuine passion for SEN education and mental health support
