Our Automotive department is excited to announce that we are looking for an Automotive Technician to team member to join the
department.
We are seeking a passionate and experienced Automotive Technician to join our dedicated team.

The Role
Macclesfield College has an innovative vision in delivering high quality education to a wide range of learners.
This is a hands-on role which involves working as a member of a vocational team. The Automotive Technician provides effective
technical support for tutors and students, ensuring that the automotive provision operates to a consistently high standard. The
role includes the maintenance of test and practical facilities, the day to day maintenance of workshop equipment and tools,
monitoring stores and stock control. Supporting teaching learning and assessment in the workshop and classroom environment.
Main Duties for this role include
1. To carry out routine and annual maintenance to workshop facilities including test rigs and test bays.
2. To monitor and assist students who are conducting practical activities in the workshops.
3. To set up demonstration resources and ensure that they will work satisfactorily. This will include the preparation of
equipment, tools, tests and experiments.
4. To clean and prepare training equipment and tools used by teaching staff and students.
5. To occasionally act as sole supervisor of a cohort of learners in either a workshop or classroom setting as the need arises.
6. To ensure the efficient operating systems for stocking, storing and distributing all consumables used in the Department.
7. To inspect, maintain and assist in the correct use of safety equipment
8. To take personal and professional responsibility for keeping up-to-date in the subject area.
9. Attend meetings as required and support the Curriculum in the monitoring and control of consumable and capital equipment.
10. To undertake all aspects of the post in accordance with the College’s Equality, Diversity & Inclusion, Safeguarding and
Health and Safety policies and schemes.
11. To comply with the College’s Data Protection policy in relation to the collection, use, storage and disposal of personal
and/or sensitive data.
12. Have responsibility for promoting and safeguarding the welfare of children and young
people that you have responsibility for, or come into contact with

13. To undertake any other duties as may reasonably be expected, commensurate with the post, both within and, where required,
external to the College.
