Senior ICT Support Technician
37 hours per week – 52 weeks per year
Salary Grade D/E - £26918 - £35241 - Depending on experience and skills
We require an enthusiastic Senior ICT Support Technician to lead and manage our IT technical support system alongside an ICT Technician.
The role is diverse and interesting, and the successful candidate would be required to run/manage the network as well as overseeing and maintaining all College hardware and software, budgeting and licensing. In addition, someone who may have an interest in and would like to be involved with our multimedia set ups and support for community and extracurricular activities as well as assemblies would be an advantage.
The candidate will be responsible for managing the IT network/intranet, general maintenance of defined computer equipment for the resolution of identified technical problems, as well as undertaking general tasks which will promote the use of ICT across the curriculum.
Horndean operates a virtualized environment based on VMware ESXi, with two on-prem hosts supporting a variety of services across Windows Server 2019 and 2022. Data is backed up and protected using Veeam Backup and Replication.
The school makes extensive use of Microsoft 365 for communication, collaboration, and productivity, alongside a wide range of both education specific and general-purpose software solutions.
Our Management Information System (MIS) is SIMS Connected, delivered via a cloud hosted environment.
Software and operating system deployments are managed using Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager (MECM), formerly known as SCCM.
The network infrastructure consists of Aruba switching and Ruckus wireless access points, both managed through their respective cloud platforms.
Printing services are managed through PaperCut, using Sharp multifunction devices, which are self-hosted. We also use Sharp-hosted on-prem systems for our retail (cashless catering) environment.
Our telephony system is a self-hosted copper-based NEC solution.
We are supported by Medhurst MSP.
