About the Role
You will work within our high performing Youth Engagement service in our Talkshop and Street Talk teams, with young people both in groups and one to one in a variety of settings. The Talkshop team provide centre-based youth work information, advice and guidance from our accredited multi-agency youth facility in Sale. The team also work in school and community settings delivering support for young people with a range of issues. Street Talk is our detached youth work team that delivers youth activities in community venues on the streets/parks and from our mobile unit. Services include sexual health; young parents; LGBT+; Young Carers etc. All staff carry a caseload of young people who need a youth work intervention, the majority of these young people have some form of mental health/well-being need.
About you
You should have excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage and inspire young people. You must demonstrate empathy, resilience, and the ability to build trusting relationships. You should have experience of working with diverse youth groups in educational, social, or community settings. You should have strong organisational skills, safeguarding knowledge, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team. A relevant qualification in youth work or a related field is preferred, alongside a genuine passion for empowering young people to reach their full potential.

Additional Information
Flexibility will be required to work outside of core office hours as most youth work takes place in the afternoons and early evenings. There is very occasional weekend working for specific events or residentials.
An enhanced DBS check with children barred list check will be required.
Whilst a driving license is not necessary it is useful for the service to have staff who can drive the youth work mobile unit (this is mobile youth centre not a minibus).
