Summary


We are recruiting aSpecialist Nursewithin the West Midlands Learning Disability and Autism Community Forensic Service.

This service is being developed as a partnership betweenCoventry and Warwickshire Partnership NHS Trust (CWPT)andMidlands Partnership University NHS Foundation Trust (MPFT).

We are seeking experienced nurses with a background incommunity and forensic work with adults with learning disabilities and/or autistic adults. Applications are welcome from staff who are currently working atBand 6 level or above.

This is anon-recurrent, two-year projectfunded via the Reach Out Collaborative, with the contract commencing upon appointment. This post is available as afixed-term contract or 20-month secondmentopportunity for internal applicants.

This is an exciting opportunity to play akey role in delivering specialist nursing care, supporting service development, and ensuring safe and effective clinical deliveryacross inpatient and community settings.

· Working with theclinical leadof the West Midlands Community Forensic LDA service to ensure safe and effective service delivery.

· Collaborating effectively with others to deliver the agreednursing responsibilitiesof the West Midlands Community Forensic LDA service.

· Beingoperationally responsiblefor healthcare and nursing staff employed in relation to the service, as directed by the clinical lead and operational manager.

· Organising and overseeing the use ofphysical resourcesrequired to run the service.

· Contributing tofuture developmentsof offender group treatment programmes and the wider community forensic service.

· Providingteaching and trainingto staff and other professionals.

· Deliveringspecialist assessments and consultationacross agencies including health, social care, third sector, and probation.

· Coordinatingreferrals into the serviceand liaising with relevant commissioners.

· Participating in theWest Midlands-wide on-call rota, providing clinical advice and urgent support outside core hours.

1. To work with the clinical lead of the West Midlands Community Forensic LDA service to ensure the safe and effective delivery of the service.

2. To work collaboratively and effectively with others to deliver the agreed nursing responsibilities of the West Midlands Community Forensic LDA Service.

3. To be operationally responsible for the health care and nursing staff employed in relation to the West Midlands Community Forensic LDA service, as directed by the clinical lead and operational manager.

4. To be responsible for organising and overseeing the use of the physical resources required to run the West Midlands Community Forensic LDA service.

5. To contribute to future developments of the offender group treatment programmes and the community forensic service.

6. To provide teaching and training of others.

7. To provide specialist assessments and consultation to others in a range of agencies (e.g. health, social care, third sector, probation)

8. To coordinate referrals into the West Midlands Community Forensic LDA service including liaison with relevant commissioners.

9. To participate in the West Midlands-wide on-call rota, providing clinical advice and urgent support outside core hours.
