We are now seeking a skilled CNC Miller Programmer (Mazak) to strengthen our manufacturing team and support our continued growth.
Role Overview
The CNC Miller Programmer will be responsible for programming, setting, and operating Mazak CNC milling machines using Mazatrol and G-code, ensuring high levels of precision, efficiency, and quality. You will play a key role in taking projects from design to finished part, working closely with engineers and machinists to deliver outstanding results.
Key Responsibilities
⦠Program, set, and operate Mazak milling machines using Mazatrol and G-code.
⦠Interpret engineering drawings, CAD models, and technical specifications.
⦠Select appropriate tooling, fixtures, and workholding for efficient setups.
⦠Produce high-precision components to tight tolerances, carrying out in-process inspection.
⦠Optimise CNC programs to reduce cycle times and improve efficiency.
⦠Work collaboratively with design and production teams to ensure manufacturability.
⦠Troubleshoot machining issues, adjust offsets, and resolve production problems.
⦠Carry out routine machine maintenance and ensure safe working practices.
Skills & Experience
⦠Proven experience in CNC milling on Mazak machines (programming and setting).
⦠Strong knowledge of Mazatrol and G-code programming.
⦠Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and GD&T.
⦠Skilled in the use of measuring tools (micrometers, calipers, gauges, CMM experience a plus).
⦠Understanding of materials, cutting parameters, and tooling strategies.
⦠Experience in low-volume, high-precision manufacturing preferred.
⦠Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
⦠Positive, team-oriented approach with a commitment to quality.
Desirable
⦠Experience with multi-axis Mazak machines.
⦠Knowledge of CAM software (e.g., Mastercam, Fusion 360).
⦠Familiarity with aerospace, motorsport, or high-precision manufacturing environments.
⦠Lean manufacturing or continuous improvement experience.
