Summary

Technical Business Analyst

Salary £37,000 - £43,000

Permanent

Folkestone Hybrid

Here at Saga, we’re looking for a Technical Business Analyst to come on board our Enterprise Application Development team.

Your initial projects will include working across our high-profile Insurance transition, as well as being integral in the new partnership development in our Money business.

You’ll be progressing your career within an integral part of Saga’s Technology Community, where you’ll be focused on understanding the needs of the organisation and developing technical business requirements in support of projects across all of Saga’s businesses.

Systems and data will feature frequently in your working day, and you’ll be supporting the conversations that provide recommendations to enhance systems architecture, and to improve data integrity & quality.

You’ll be proactively communicating and collaborating with external and internal customers and stakeholders to clearly elicit, analyse and articulate business requirements and translate them to technical requirements, ensuring all stakeholders have a clear understanding on what's being delivered (essentially making sure you can communicate to both technical and non-technical stakeholders to ensure everyone understands what the requirements are and what needs to be delivered).

We work in a hybrid way at Saga both at home and in the office. When you do come into the office, it’ll be with a real purpose in mind, for strategy days and project-based milestones. You will be required to attend our Folkestone office at least once a fortnight.

Main Responsibilities

As a Technical Business Analyst you will be responsible for assisting with project definition, translating business requirements into technical specifications.

• Function as an interface for technical delivery both internally and with 3rd party partners and service providers.

• Supporting multidisciplinary teams in designing, developing, documenting, testing, and delivering solution designs.

• Documenting designs & requirements needed to institute proposed updates.

• Facilitating Data Mapping workshops and documenting future state data architecture.

• Working alongside technical teams to ensure proposed solutions are achievable and fully documented.

• Proactive stakeholder engagement.

• Collaborate with developers and subject matter experts to establish the technical vision and analyse trade-offs between usability and performance needs.

• Assist with review of test scripts to ensure that all functional requirements are being tested.

• Assist with defect triage.

• Drive and challenge business units on their assumptions of how they will successfully execute their plans.

• Adhere to Company and Departmental standards and recommend improvements where appropriate.

• Engaging and inputting into architectural strategy, governance, and policy.

The Ideal Candidate

As one of our Technical Business Analysts you’ll be able to determine and articulate comprehensive business requirements (both functional and non-functional).

We are open to Analysts with experience across any industry, however if you have multi industry experience this will be of advantage in navigating Saga’s portfolio of business units.

Other skills and experience required include:

• Data mapping and ETL processes

• Web Services Design

• Creating/running SQL queries

• Some basic exposure to programming.

• Understanding of business process modelling, RAD (Role Activity Diagrams) and UML modelling.

• Elicit requirements using various techniques such as site visits, interviews, research, observation, document analysis, requirements workshops, surveys, business process reviews, use cases, scenarios, business analysis, task and workflow.

• Ability to create and deliver clear presentations and to facilitate workshops to gain and agree requirements and solutions.
