art-K is a private art education service which teaches children (who love art!). art-K has developed a specialist art program that tutors art skills to create great pieces of art. We are the largest children's art education service in England, teaching over 7000 children nationally per week!
Job purpose
The job holder’s purpose is to assist the selling and resourcing of art-K community outreach events.
As a medium sized company, art-K is committed to and values each member of staff; art-K is in a growth phase so by establishing a good track record, the successful applicant can consider their future role development. Options will include growth in hours or change of role in the central team as opportunities arise or, in teaching which may offer relocations to branches opened across the UK.
Job responsibilities
The purpose of the role is to support the community outreach events which include:
Within the off-site events team, qualify the enquiries and respond by coordinating resources to support the event.
Assemble and deliver art boxes to the off-site event.
Respond to customer enquiries by phone and email.
Attend weekly meetings to confirm actions and results and ensure working within the terms of reference.
Learn to use and support the events using and maintaining Swoogo.
Maintain the events enquiry tracker of google docs.
Write up a daily report on progress to the manager.
Support the drawing up of a target list of potential users of our events packages
Contribute to promoting the service and qualifying the opportunities
Act on weekly targets and tasks agreed on by the outreach events team.
- Depending on the tasks at hand, there may be other activities that need to be supported. The role may include, but not limited to:
Providing Outreach activities at OXO and supporting the OXO exhibition project in general (overtime may be claimed and offered for this on a fixed term period).
Ad hoc support with party admin tasks including support covering during sickness or absence periods flexibly.
Optional providing off-site events activities if within working hours.
Optional extra hours for ad hoc cover for illness in the events team on the days you are not working
All training will be provided to ensure you feel confident taking on these tasks.
Formal Qualifications
A degree 2:1 is preferable and/or relevant experience.
The ideal candidate will have:
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications generally, with a focus on Microsoft Word, is essential.
High level of English writing ability to be able to draft content and respond to questions by email.
Over time and with growing confidence, an individual who can inspire people with the energy they bring to the role.
An individual who can effectively communicate balancing the needs of the company with the needs of the individual.
Personal Attributes
A person who is passionate about children’s artistic development.
Analytical skills are essential to determine whether marketing approaches are working as desired.
Good interpersonal skills for engaging with clients and staff.
Organised and efficient.
