Calderdale College is seeking a dedicated and proactive Support and Engagement Officer to join our team at The Mill Studios. This is a key role within the college’s safeguarding team, focused on ensuring that students and apprentices are positively engaged with their programme of learning and receive the support they need to thrive.

You will play a vital part in promoting student wellbeing and removing barriers to learning. You will help ensure that learners have access to appropriate support services, and that safeguarding concerns are identified and addressed promptly. Your work will contribute directly to creating a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment.

Strong communication skills—both verbal and written—are critical, as you will be working closely with learners, parents/guardians, colleagues, managers, and external agencies. Your ability to build trust, maintain confidentiality, and respond sensitively to individual needs will be key to your success in this role.

If you're passionate about supporting learners and making a difference, we’d love to hear from you!

When we shortlist potential candidates, we will inform those who have been shortlisted that online search maybe conducted as part of the due diligence checks. The college will ensure to communicate the lawful basis on which this personal information will be collected.

We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of young people and vulnerable adults and expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. Appointments are subject to an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check.
