Summary
Behaviour Mentor - Primary Pupil Referral Unit (PRU) - Manchester - Step Teachers
Start: ASAP (Sept 2025) | Pay: £95/day (PAYE)
Hours: Full-time, Monday-Friday, 8:30am-3:30pm
This is a role for a Behaviour Mentor at a specialist Primary PRU in Manchester supporting kids with SEMH needs and behaviour challenges, focused on preventing exclusions and building resilience. Classes are small and nurture-led, with a strong emphasis on communication and emotional support.
As a Behaviour Mentor, you'll deliver 1:1 and small group support, helping pupils manage emotions, stay engaged, and improve behaviour. You'll use de-escalation techniques and work closely with teachers and staff to create a calm, structured environment where every child can thrive.
This role suits anyone with at least 3 months' experience working with children with social or emotional difficulties, especially if you're empathetic, patient, and confident in managing challenging behaviour. Up to date Team Teach behaviour management training is essential for this role.
