The successful candidate will play a crucial role in supporting students with special educational needs and disabilities, ensuring they receive the necessary support and guidance to thrive academically and personally.

The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of working with students with diverse needs, demonstrating a deep understanding of the challenges they face and the strategies required to help them overcome barriers to learning. The SENDCo will work closely with teachers, support staff, and external agencies to develop and implement personalised support plans, making sure that each student's unique needs are met effectively.

As a key member of the school's leadership team, the SENDCo will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operation of the school's SEND policy, ensuring compliance with statutory requirements and best practices. This will involve regularly reviewing and updating the policy, as well as providing training and support to staff to ensure they are equipped with the knowledge and skills necessary to support students with SEND effectively.

The successful candidate will also be responsible for managing the SEND budget, ensuring that resources are allocated efficiently and effectively to support students' needs. This will involve working closely with the school's finance team and other members of the leadership team to ensure that funding is used in a way that maximises the impact on student outcomes.

In addition to these core responsibilities, the SENDCo will also be expected to:
- Conduct regular assessments of students with SEND to identify their needs and monitor their progress
- Liaise with parents and carers to keep them informed of their child's progress and involve them in decision-making processes
- Collaborate with external agencies, such as educational psychologists and speech and language therapists, to ensure that students receive specialist support when required
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of students with SEND, including individual education plans and annual reviews
- Contribute to the development of a whole-school approach to inclusion, promoting a culture of high expectations and inclusive practices

To be successful in this role, candidates should have:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a relevant post-graduate qualification in special educational needs
- Extensive experience of working with students with SEND in a school setting
- A deep understanding of the SEND Code of Practice and other relevant legislation and guidance
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, parents, and external stakeholders
- Strong organisational and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines
- A commitment to ongoing professional development and a willingness to stay up-to-date with the latest research and best practices in SEND education

In return for their expertise and dedication, the successful candidate will receive a competitive salary of £36,000 to £40,000 per annum, depending on experience and qualifications.

To apply for this exciting opportunity, please submit your CV without delay! We look forward to receiving your application and exploring how your skills and experience can contribute to the success of our students with SEND.
