Summary
Nursery Room Leader | Up to £30,400 | 40 hours per week
Our client is looking for a caring and experienced Nursery Room Leader with a Level 3 qualification in early years childcare to join a beautiful, welcoming nursery that values outdoor learning. This hands-on leadership role blends child development expertise with team mentoring in a nurturing setting. The ideal candidate will inspire high-quality early years education through inclusivity, creativity, and connection with nature.
What We’re Looking For
- Minimum Level 3 childcare or early years qualification (or equivalent).
- Proven experience in an early years setting, ideally with leadership or room-leader experience.
- Strong knowledge of the EYFS framework, child development principles, and safeguarding best practices.
- Excellent communication, organisational, and team-leadership skills.
- A calm, inclusive, and creative approach—passionate about outdoor learning and supporting every child to thrive.
- Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain), paediatric first aid training, and safeguarding certification highly desirable.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage a dedicated room team, ensuring a warm and stimulating early years environment.
- Plan, deliver, and adapt creative play and learning experiences aligned with the EYFS (Early Years Foundation Stage), with a special emphasis on outdoor learning and exploration.
- Support children’s physical, social, emotional, and intellectual development through inclusive, child-centred activities.
- Supervise staff effectively—mentoring, scheduling, and promoting continuous professional growth.
- Communicate warmly and clearly with parents/carers, sharing progress and building trusting relationships.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and compliant environment, performing regular risk assessments and following safeguarding and health & safety protocols.
